Provision for the storage of personal details of Fire Guard members held at the fire station of North Warrandyte Brigade of the CFA. Statement: The North Warrandyte Brigade of the CFA (NthW CFA) is compiling and renovating the storage and handling of all brigades Fire Guard members (associates) personal details. To that end the NthW CFA senior management has commissioned the construction of a computerised information system which will be at the disposal of the organisational staff of the CFA. The Intention: The information provided will be used to produce a data base that will enable the NthW CFA to email out general items of interest to individuals. The information sent out will include, when possible, notification of a “Total Fire Ban” in the area, the commencement and conclusion of the Fire Danger Period, information on the brigade activities / brigade involvement at fires around the state, general fire safety messages and brigade fundraising activities. Note: This service does not guarantee to notify you of all TFB’s or provide a means of notifying members of fires in the area. For this information please refer to the official websites and contact numbers. It is the intention of the NthW CFA to keep this information secret and private. No individual or organization outside of the senior members of the NthW CFA can now or at anytime in the future gain access to the information you provide either by written or electronic medias. Ethics: If at any time, as a NthW CFA associate you wish to examine, challenge or complain about the content of your information or view how it is stored, accessed, used or the accuracy of your data, you have the right of request to the Captain of the NthW CFA. If you feel that your requests or issues have not been successfully satisfied, then you have the ability to nominate your concerns at a monthly meeting as an agenda item for the brigade as a whole to address. The brigade has the ability to form an ethics committee to address disputes that cannot be resolved through normal arbitration methods. Statement of agreement to participate: “I (the associate) have read and understand the information above, and any questions I have asked have been answered to my satisfaction. I agree to have my personal details stored at the discretion of the NthW Captain, realising that I may withdraw my consent at any time. I realize that the information I provide can be used by being compiled and grouped and the results can be broadcast only without reference to my individual or personal information. I agree to accept personalized emails and other similar communications generated from the computerised system.
